Affinity Neurodiversity
Neurodivergent Educators Affinity Group Meetings

The Neurodivergent Affinity group is a teacher-led group for language educators who identify under the Neurodivergent umbrella.

When:

• February 11, 2025, 6:30-7:30 p.m. ET
• April 8, 2025, 6:30-7:30 p.m. ET

Affinity lgbtq
LGBTQIA+ Educators Affinity Group Meetings

This group is for language teachers who identify as LGBTQIA+ to have a brave space for thoughtful discussions related to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex, asexual (LGBTQIA+) issues.

When:

• February 10, 2025, 6:30-7:30 p.m. ET
• April 14, 2025, 6:30-7:30 p.m. ET

Affinity Disability
Disabled Educators Affinity Group Meetings

This is an affinity space for language educators with one or multiple disabilities. We create this space for educators to be able to socialize, support, educate and advocate with others who share this element of their identity.

When:

• February 15, 2025, 1:00-2:00 p.m. ET
• April 19, 2025, 1:00-2:00 p.m. ET

New Teachers Affinity Group Meetings

The New Teacher affinity group's multifaceted goals support new teachers (fewer than five years in the classroom) by fostering community, sharing knowledge, and strengthening teaching skills through collaboration and inclusivity.

Language: English (teachers of any language may join and pursue Limited Certification in the language of their choice)

This is your chance to present at the world's premier educational event for language educators. Compelling proposals address the needs of today’s learners and educators by focusing on innovative programs, emerging trends, and research-informed practice. 

Submission deadline: Friday, January 17, 2025, at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time.

Registration is limited and closes on January 31 at 5 p.m. ET

Dates: February 3, 2025 – March 9, 2025 (detailed schedule on registration page)

Delivery: Hybrid Virtual (combination of on-demand modules and live sessions via Zoom)

Language: English (teachers of any language may join and pursue Full Certification in the language of their choice), but depending on registration interest, possible for a cohort focused on: Arabic, Chinese, French, or Spanish
